November is a great time to visit Dunedin as the students depart, summer shows are hung and the gardens are in bloom. Join us for 3 nights in Dunedin and around the Otago Peninsula. We'll be looking out for vestiges of the lives and work of artists past, and visiting artists present, as well as the local galleries.

Suggested Itinerary

Wednesday 25 November

A transfer is provided for flight NZ 675 departing Auckland at 1230 arriving Dunedin at 2.30pm.

On arrival a transfer is provided to our hotel for the next three nights. The Ebb Hotel is a recent addition to the Dunedin scene and provides quality design and art surroundings.

On arrival check in and depart on foot to the Octagon for a visit to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

Thursday 26 November

We are out and about around the city and Port Chalmers this morning. Find coffee and  Devonshire tea at Careys Bay pub, visit the Hotere Garden at Flagstaff Lookout.

Head back into town and we wander from the Octagon along to Olga Gallery followed by Hutch. Lunch in the Octagon and then wander along to Amanda Shanley Studio and down Dowling Street through the galleries – ending at Brett McDowell Gallery.

A quick visit to the Botanic Garden is on offer before we finish for the day.

Friday 27 November

We will be off to meet an artist this morning before heading to the Otago Peninsula to visit Portobello and lunch at the local café.

There is an opportunity to visit a local collector this afternoon before farewell dinner at the hotel this evening.

Saturday 28 November

We check out this morning and visit the Dunedin Railway Station, Farmers Market and Otago Settlers Museum and Chinese Garden before finding lunch and then transferring to the airport for our flight home this afternoon.
